ARTENSA 60

Artensa 60 is an injection manufactured by Alpha drug. It contains a salt namely, Artesunate 60mg. This belongs to the category of antiparasitic drugs which specializes in the treatment of only malaria and the disease related to malaria. It contains some of the components that help in the prevention of growth infection. 

Artesunate is a derivative of Artemisinin which is found in the Artemisia annua that is a traditional herb that is commonly used in China for the treatment of malaria. This pharmaceutical drug is a strong medicine that has to be taken with the prescription of a clinician only. One cannot take the dose of injection without his own concern as it may cause adverse effects if not taken with the suggested precautions.

Artesunate may also cause some common side effects but these will be very normal and does not cause any serious problem. Effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting,  and a few others might be noticed. It is necessary to complete the course duration and not miss a dose.

Composition of Artesunate Injection 

The formation of injection contains 60mg of Artesunate. Each ampoule contains 1 ml of 5% Sodium bicarbonate solution.

• Eat a lot of fruits.
• If you are pregnant then it’s better to consult the doctor without taking any medicine for malaria.
• The medication is not for pediatric use.

Side Effects of Artesunate Injection

There are some side effects that are being noted with the use of the malaria injection.

Common Effects 

• One can feel too dizzy.
• There can be a noticeable change in the sleep cycle.
• Nausea can occur.
• One can undergo a serious vomiting condition.
• Loss of appetite is the most common effect of the injection.
• Digestive issues such as diarrhea may occur.

Rare Effects

• Hives
• Rash
• Reversible neurological changes
• Neuropsychiatric reactions
• Hemoglobinuria
• Seizures

The rare side effects won’t occur easily but if they are being noticed then it is advised to contact the respective doctor immediately.
